COMMERCE MEDIA LEAD
6–9 Month Contract | Senior Individual Contributor | No Direct Reports
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK digital advertising industry organisation for an experienced Commerce Media Lead to take ownership of one of the most important and fastest-growing areas of the industry.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Commerce Media is rapidly changing how advertising is planned, bought and measured. Retailers, marketplaces, financial services, travel businesses and other organisations are increasingly monetising their first-party data, audiences and digital properties — creating significant opportunities alongside new challenges around measurement, standards, transparency and value. Our client plays a central role in bringing the industry together to tackle these shared challenges and help shape its future.
The Commerce Media Lead will drive this agenda, bringing together some of the biggest names in the industry to agree priorities, share best practice and turn discussion into meaningful action.
This is not an executional role. We’re looking for someone strategic, commercially minded and with real gravitas — someone who can confidently bring together senior stakeholders with competing agendas, develop a compelling industry point of view and represent the organisation on stage.
You’ll be the person people want to have in the room: credible, engaging, well connected and able to make things happen.
THE ROLE
Lead the industry
- Become a leading and independent voice on Commerce Media in the UK
- Develop clear and compelling points of view on the biggest opportunities and challenges shaping the sector
- Represent the organisation at conferences, industry events, panels, media opportunities and senior stakeholder forums
- Build relationships with international industry bodies, trade organisations, analysts and commentators to bring global thinking into the UK market
- Develop research, guidance, standards, events and thought leadership that help move the Commerce Media industry forward

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
