Job title: Commercial Account Executive
Salary: £65,000
Location: Doncaster – Hybrid
PURPOSE OF ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join a growing insurance business in Doncaster.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, with a strong focus on building long-term relationships, generating new business and identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.
You will act as a trusted adviser to your clients, understanding their individual business needs and providing tailored insurance solutions, while working closely with insurers, broking teams and specialist colleagues to deliver a high-quality service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting and existing relationships.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with commercial clients across a range of sectors.
- Manage and develop an existing portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth and additional income.
- Lead renewal and placement discussions to achieve appropriate and competitive outcomes for clients.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and broaden existing client relationships.
- Work closely with Account Handlers, Broking Operations, insurers and specialist teams to provide a seamless client experience.
- Contribute to business growth, revenue generation, client retention and portfolio performance.
- Ensure all client activity is managed professionally and in line with FCA regulations and internal compliance requirements.
- Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses, risks and changing insurance requirements.

DAY-TO-DAY
- Managing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients and acting as their key point of contact.
- Building relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to develop the account.
- Generating and following up new business opportunities.
- Attending client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
- Discussing renewals and developing appropriate insurance solutions.
- Negotiating with insurers and working with internal broking teams on placement.
- Networking and developing relationships within the local and wider commercial market.
- Maintaining accurate client and CRM records.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and insurer partners to deliver positive client outcomes.
- Travelling to meet clients and attend relevant business development activities when required.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience developing and managing commercial insurance client relationships.
- Demonstrable experience winning new business and/or developing existing commercial accounts.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and the insurer market.
- Experience managing a portfolio of commercial clients.
- Strong understanding of the commercial broking process.
- Experience working towards income, growth, retention or new business targets.
- Good understanding of FCA regulations and compliant ways of working.
- Experience using insurance broking and CRM systems.
- Cert CII qualified or actively working towards a professional insurance qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience with Acturis or a similar insurance system would be beneficial.
