Job title: Commercial Account Executive - Removals, Storage & Haulage

Salary: £70,000 + bonus scheme + car allowance

Location: Surrey (Home Based anywhere in the UK)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

A specialist commercial broker, part of one of the UK’s top 10 independent broking groups, is looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join its niche team in Surrey.

This is a genuine new business role for a natural hunter and relationship builder with proven cross class commercial insurance experience. You will inherit an existing book of removals and storage risks to build from, and your focus will be on winning new clients, growing your own network and delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions to businesses across the UK and Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive new business growth across cross class commercial insurance
  • Develop opportunities from existing prospect lists while generating your own leads
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients and industry contacts
  • Leverage trade memberships and industry organisations to develop your network
  • Present tailored commercial insurance and risk management solutions
  • Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to winning the account
  • Retain and develop long-term client relationships through outstanding service
  • Ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations and internal standards

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Prospecting, networking and self-generating leads within a specialist commercial sector
  • Meeting prospects and clients face to face, with travel across the UK and Europe as required
  • Reviewing client exposures and designing bespoke cover and risk management solutions
  • Negotiating terms with insurers and presenting recommendations to clients
  • Managing your own pipeline, renewals and reporting
  • Attending head office in Leatherhead for touchpoint meetings and team collaboration
  • Working closely with in-house claims and risk management specialists

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record in cross class commercial insurance broking and sales
  • Demonstrable success in winning new business and developing a client bank
  • Experience of removals, storage or haulage risks is desirable, though full training will be provided
  • Sound understanding of FCA regulation and compliant sales practice
  • Cert CII / Dip CII or working towards is advantageous – study support is available

  • Proactive new business hunter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Comfortable networking and opening doors with new prospects
  • Highly organised, with strong time management and prioritisation
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
