Commercial Account Handler

Location: Twickenham (Hybrid)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + company benefits and bonus (with flexibility on salary depending on experience), hybrid working pattern with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

About the Company:

An established independent insurance broker with a prominent presence across London and the South East, known for delivering bespoke solutions across commercial property, construction, and private client sectors. Backed by solid market standing and strong relationships across composite insurers, MGAs, and Lloyd's syndicates, the business is undergoing purposeful commercial expansion across its core divisions.

Role Summary:

If you are currently handling commercial accounts and want a clearly defined progression path into a client-facing Account Executive role, this position offers an ideal springboard. You will blend new business generation with technical broking across diverse property owners and commercial risks, benefiting from direct exposure to senior leaders, high-value referral partnerships, and the wider London market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert qualified inbound enquiries and proactive referral leads across property owners and commercial combined risks, giving you direct influence over pipeline growth and measurable commercial impact
  • Manage a targeted portfolio of commercial renewals, providing you with full file autonomy and the space to refine your technical broking across key insurer partners
  • Place risks ranging from standard property owners to complex industrial units and motor fleets with composite insurers and Lloyd's markets, broadening your underwriting knowledge and insurer relationships
  • Collaborate directly with senior management on larger, complex placements valued over £20k premium, offering valuable mentorship and preparation for face-to-face client executive duties

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable commercial broking or account handling experience, ideally with good exposure to property owners and commercial combined covers
  • A confident, proactive commercial mindset with the ability to identify cross-selling opportunities and develop introducer relationships
  • Previous experience or an awareness of Private Clients and High Net Worth risks is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the diligence to deliver prompt, client-focused service across telephone and email
