We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join a growing Insurance Brokers based in Essex.
This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to develop your career toward an Account Executive by providing essential support to the Sales Manager, working with a small team. This opportunity will include new business placement, client servicing, renewals, and the day-to-day management of commercial insurance risks.
New Business & Placement
- Support the placement of new commercial risks with underwriters and broking partners
- Prepare quotation requests and supporting documentation
- Liaise with clients and underwriters to secure terms and arrange placement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation

Renewals & Servicing
- Manage the renewal of commercial policies across a broad range of risks
- Process mid-term adjustments and policy variations
- Handle client queries and claims support
- Ensure timely renewals and compliance with policy documentation
Team & Supervision
- Provide oversight and support to three junior account staff members
- Act as support to the Sales Manager on key accounts and initiatives
- Assist with training, quality control, and process improvement
Professional Development
- Contribute to the growth and efficiency of the commercial team
- Develop expertise in a broad range of commercial insurance risks
- Progress toward an Account Executive role as experience and opportunity allow

About you
- Have experience of commercial insurance experience
- Proven experience in renewals, mid-term adjustments, new business, and risk placement
- Sound knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets
- Property insurance experience, or broad commercial combined risks background
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Professional client-facing manner and communication skills
Basic salary
£40,000 - £45,000 plus company benefits
