About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Account Handler to join our collaborative team of talented and committed insurance professionals. We have ambitious growth plans for the business and are looking for someone who wants to contribute to our journey and continued success.

You'll ensure our clients receive suitable and cost-effective insurance solutions by understanding their needs and negotiating with insurers to find the best solutions. Your main duties will include:

  • Working closely with Client Executives to understand client needs, including supporting meetings as required
  • Managing all renewal, new and mid-term policy work as required
  • Negotiating with insurers to obtain appropriate and cost effective solutions for clients
  • Keeping electronic files up to date, in order and all work tasked/diarised accordingly
  • Maintaining an understanding of the general insurance market and changes within the sector

The role is based at our office in Newmarket, with the potential for occasional travel to our other office in Norwich. Hybrid working may be discussed following a successful probation period.

About You

This role is a great opportunity for someone with relevant commercial insurance experience who wants to develop further with the support of a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced team.

You must have:

  • At least three years’ experience working in insurance, specifically in commercial lines and across a range of products
  • At least a grade C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English
  • At least Cert CII qualification, or a willingness to work towards it
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook); an interest in AI is desirable
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands and manage time effectively
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking an independent approach to problem-solving.

Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of Acturis. You will also be curious and proactive, able to build trusted relationships internally and externally, and committed to delivering fair customer outcomes. You will think beyond the obvious, evaluate options confidently and propose practical solutions.
