Job title: Commercial Account Handler
Salary: Negotiable + Benefits
Location: Newcastle - Upon - Tyne
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Our client, located in the Newcastle - Upon - Tyne area, is looking to add a Commercial Account Handler to their team.
The role is designed to support clients with their day-to-day needs — including mid-term adjustments, document queries and renewal reviews — while also helping our Account Executives with renewal preparation and new business quotations.
You'll play a key part in keeping workloads balanced across the team, helping to ensure clients continue to receive the high level of service they're used to.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting clients with renewals and new business quotations, managing relationships with key stakeholders and delivering outstanding service
- Proactively building a pipeline of referrals from existing clients to generate new business
- Working with clients to review and develop their cover, ensuring they have the right level of protection
- Liaising with the broking and support teams to ensure all documentation is accurate
- Negotiating with Underwriters as required to secure the best available terms
- Working in a compliant and timely manner across all cases
- Helping to achieve retention levels and income targets
- Working with the regional management team to support business objectives and the development of colleagues

EXPERIENCE
- Ideally 2+ years' experience within an Account Handling role
- Ideally Cert CII qualified, or working towards this, with ambition to progress within a client-focused organisation
- Previous experience using Acturis is highly beneficial
SKILLS
- Strong written, verbal and video communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational and IT skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Able to interpret policy wording and draw accurate conclusions
- A full driving licence would be beneficial for future client visits
