The Commercial Department
The Commercial Department plays a pivotal role in the organisation's success by driving strategic growth and revenue generation. Comprising specialists in marketing, business development, deal execution, market intelligence, and site selection, the team ensures seamless collaboration to identify market opportunities, develop compelling value propositions, and deliver customer-centric solutions. By leveraging data-driven insights and industry expertise, the department supports the company’s mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable data centre services across Europe.
Position Overview
The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for customer relationships from contract execution through project delivery and into operations.
Working closely with the Head of Leasing & Transactions, the role will ensure customers receive a consistently high level of commercial support throughout the lifecycle of each project whilst identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, resolve issues proactively and maximise long-term commercial value.
The role acts as the day-to-day commercial interface between HSCALE and its customers, coordinating internally across Development, Design, Delivery, Legal, Finance and Operations to ensure commitments are delivered and customer expectations are exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day commercial relationship with assigned customers, developing trusted and effective long-term partnerships.
- Establish and coordinate customer governance meetings, commercial reviews, reporting and follow-up actions.
- Monitor contractual commitments, commercial risks, dependencies and outstanding customer actions.
- Manage commercial changes, contract amendments and variations in collaboration with Legal, Finance and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate customer requirements, technical inputs, decisions and approvals across internal teams.
- Identify and resolve emerging issues proactively, escalating where necessary to protect delivery programmes and customer confidence.
- Support customer onboarding, commissioning, handover and the transition of projects into operations.
- Identify opportunities for additional capacity, future expansion and broader strategic collaboration with existing customers.
- Prepare and support customer presentations, proposals, business reviews and relationship-development activities.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, account reporting, customer feedback and action tracking.

Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing and developing strategic customer or key-account relationships.
- Relevant commercial experience within data centres, digital infrastructure, technology, real estate or another complex infrastructure environment.
- Strong commercial and contract-management capability, including experience interpreting contractual obligations and managing commercial change.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex customer requirements across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder-management, communication and presentation skills.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to balance customer expectations, contractual commitments and business priorities.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, international and delivery-focused environment.
