Commercial Account Manager
Remote (UK)
Quintessence is a fast-growing, specialist fragrance house within the family-owned Lucta Group, focused on Fine Fragrance, Personal Care and Air Care. With operations across the UK, Europe, the USA, UAE, India and China, we offer our clients a comprehensive and joined-up global service.
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially astute Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of customers, several of whom are leading UK retailers.
Alongside managing and developing existing accounts, you will proactively identify, pursue and win new business. We are looking for someone with genuine tenacity – comfortable navigating long sales cycles and confident dealing with major retailers at buyer / senior buyer.
The successful candidate will bring previous industry experience including working with retailers. A genuine passion for the sector is important, as you will be marketing new and innovative products to our trend-setting customers.

Our UK operations are based in Newhaven, Sussex, where our Account Managers collaborate with perfumers, evaluators and marketers to find the best solutions for our customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage existing customer accounts and develop your own portfolio of accounts
- Build strong customer relationships founded in expert fragrance industry knowledge and problem solving.
- Interpret and share market trends in product development.
- Collaborate with internal teams across evaluation, perfumery and marketing to deliver customer projects.
- Ensure delivery of sales targets and accreting margin.
What We're Looking For
- A proven track record of working closely with key accounts
- Strong retailer experience, ideally with major/national retail accounts
- Ambitious and commercially astute, with a genuine ‘hunter’ instinct for new business
- Tenacious and resilient, with the confidence to open doors and negotiate with senior stakeholders at major retailers
- Self-motivated, with the ability to use your own initiative
- A team player with strong organisational and negotiation skills
