Commercial Accountant
Location: Salford
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused analyst to join a fast-paced finance team responsible for supporting a multi-million-pound turnover operation. This role works closely with National Account Managers and wider commercial teams, delivering financial insight, analysis, and reporting to help maximise account profitability and support strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in analysing trading performance, supporting large tenders and customer reviews, managing forecasting processes, and providing actionable commercial insight to support continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with sales and commercial teams to support stakeholder requirements
- Review customer account profitability and help identify improvement opportunities or exit strategies
- Support large business tenders, reviews, and re-tenders, including attendance at customer meetings and presenting commercial proposals
- Produce and review forecasts to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
- Assist in the preparation of sales budgets within your sector
- Manage rebate/retro processes end-to-end, including reporting, payment processing, and reconciliations
- Support bi-annual price review processes alongside the sales team to ensure effective delivery and positive commercial outcomes

Skills & Experience Required
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial and operational data effectively
- Previous experience within a commercial finance or analyst role is desirable
