Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially aware accounts team member with a strong accounting background to join our Ipswich team on a permanent contract. The new team member will take on our existing reconciliation and credit control roles and then work with our technical team to identify ways to fully automate these processes, repeating this throughout the department.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our technical team to identify ways to fully automate reconciliation and credit control processes.
  • Responsible for daily and monthly reconciling, handling credit control, and ensuring the accuracy of customer and supplier accounts.
  • Liaise regularly with the Sales and Management teams to make decisions regarding both our customers and our suppliers.
  • Challenge and improve existing processes within the department.

  • Proven experience working in accounts departments at a similar scale to our business.
  • A clear understanding of accounting principles, with relevant qualifications preferred but not required if sufficient experience can be demonstrated.
  • Demonstrable aptitude working with computers, as well as an interest in how recent technological advancements impact and can modernise the accounting function of a business.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A good standard of written English and the ability to communicate effectively with both stakeholders within the company, our extensive network of customers, and any of our suppliers.

Work Details

  • Location: Ipswich IP3 9SW
  • Hours: 9.00-17.00 Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch included.
  • No mandatory overtime and no weekend work.
