About CD Fencing & Construction Services Ltd
We are a long-standing, respected contractor delivering fencing, barriers, traffic management, and infrastructure services across the UK. Our projects range from local highways to major national infrastructure.
We are looking for a Commercial Administrator/ Estimating Assistant to join our commercial team. This is a hands-on role supporting quantity surveying, and tendering activities. Whether you're leaving college, looking to start your career, or already have experience in administration or a clerical role, this is a great opportunity to develop valuable commercial skills within a growing business. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

About the Role
You’ll work closely with the commercial team, providing support across the full lifecycle of commercial activities. Responsibilities will include:

- Preparing valuations for clients
- Cost analysis and reporting on completed projects
- Supporting tendering and estimating activities
- Assisting with risk and opportunity reviews
- Providing commercial support to operational teams in works delivery
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and client standards
What We Expect
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and keen to learn. You don't need previous commercial experience—we're happy to train the right person.
- MS Excel skills and good knowledge of MS suite
- Good numeracy
- Good organisational skills, able to work to deadlines
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines
- Confident working with costs, quotes and records
- Organisational and time management skills
- Confidence working as part of a small, focused team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Interest in developing a long-term career in quantity surveying
- Willingness to learn
Desirable:
- Construction experience
- Estimating or tendering experience
- Finance or invoice experience
- Purchase order or procurement experience
- Project administrator experience
- Drawing interpretation
- Highways, fencing, barriers or infrastructure knowledge
- QS or commercial management study
- NEC or contract awareness
- A construction-related qualification (HNC or similar) is desirable but not essential
