At Wates, we're looking for a proactive and organised Commercial Administrator to join our Construction team based at Think Park, Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment and is looking to build a career within a leading UK construction and development company. As a key member of the commercial team, you'll provide vital administrative support that helps ensure the smooth running of our projects and commercial operations.

About The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll support the commercial team with a wide range of administrative activities, helping to maintain accurate records, manage documentation and support financial and contractual processes.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing administrative support to the Commercial Manager and wider commercial team
  • Maintaining project records, registers and commercial documentation
  • Assisting with subcontractor onboarding and document management
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices
  • Supporting applications, valuations and payment processes
  • Updating and managing commercial reporting systems
  • Coordinating meetings and preparing documentation when required
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems and ensuring records are auditable and compliant
  • Supporting the team with general project administration and ad hoc tasks

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and enjoys building strong working relationships.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • Experience within construction, commercial, finance or project environments (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • A positive, proactive and flexible attitude
