SMB Commercial Analyst

Location: Donnington – Telford

Salary: From £39k per annum.

Hours: Monday to Friday- 9am-5.30pm. (Office Based role)

Lyreco UK & Ireland is seeking a commercially minded and analytical SMB Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Operations team and play a key role in supporting business performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Regional Sales Directors, the SMB New Business Team and Product & Services to provide commercially robust analysis and recommendations that support business decision making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with practical delivery. You will use data to support profitable new-business opportunities and improve commercial performance across our existing customer base, while protecting commercial integrity.

What will you be doing?

As Our Commercial Analyst, You Will

  • Analyse regional pricing performance, customer profitability and buying behaviour, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Analyse tender requirements to identify suitable Lyreco products, services and commercially appropriate alternatives.
  • Benchmark competitor pricing and product ranges to support competitive and commercially balanced proposals.
  • Provide commercial insight and analytical support throughout the tender process, helping new business Sales teams deliver competitive proposals whilst maintaining commercial integrity.
  • Collaborate with Product & Services teams to identify opportunities for supplier-supported pricing and enhanced commercial propositions where appropriate.
  • Develop evidence-based commercial and pricing recommendations that balance profitability, margin expectations and long-term customer value.
  • Prepare regular, actionable management reports, dashboards and performance analysis.
  • Support strategic commercial projects and ad hoc analysis, working with stakeholders across the business to inform decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement approved pricing and commercial activity through Lyreco’s systems, ensuring accuracy and appropriate governance.
  • Monitor performance following implementation and provide commentary against expected outcomes and prior performance.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes, data quality, pricing methodologies and analytical tools.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, commercially aware and confident turning data into meaningful insight.

  • Experience in a commercial, financial, business analysis or similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • The ability to interpret financial and commercial information and communicate findings clearly.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance customer competitiveness, profitability and wider business objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
  • A proactive approach and a genuine interest in understanding what drives business performance.
