⚡ Commercial Analyst | Edinburgh | Up to £47,000 + Bonus + Package

AI Connect are working with a leading business in the UK’s energy aggregation market that is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their growing team in Edinburgh.

The business plays a key role in the transition to a more flexible, low-carbon electricity system, working with generators, battery storage, and commercial energy users to optimise their assets and unlock new revenue opportunities.

🔍 What will you be doing?

You’ll sit within the Product function and work across Commercial, Data, Trading, Operations, Settlements, Product, and Account Management.

Your work will include:

  • Developing the metrics used to assess asset performance and commercial returns
  • Building and maintaining internal and customer-facing reporting
  • Translating complex contractual requirements into measurable data processes
  • Supporting commercial settlements, controls, and reconciliation
  • Analysing asset availability, degradation, efficiency, cycling, and performance
  • Helping incorporate asset health and technical performance into optimisation tools
  • Identifying future commercial opportunities for Energy Partners
  • Turning data into clear, actionable commercial insight

🧠 What are they looking for?

Ideally, you’ll have 2+ years' experience in a commercial, analytical, financial, or operational role. Experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Python would be highly valuable, alongside strong commercial awareness and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in energy, energy trading, battery storage, asset optimisation, or flexibility markets would be a bonus, but isn't essential.
