What is the role?
At SSE, our business-focused teams play a vital role in helping the organisation plan for the future, manage risk, identify opportunities and make informed decisions. They support major investment decisions, improve business performance and help deliver critical projects and initiatives.
Our opportunities are designed for graduates who want to develop business, analytical and stakeholder management skills while making a real impact from day one. Over two years, you'll gain hands-on experience across a range of teams and activities, building the knowledge and experience needed for a successful long-term career at SSE.
You'll join one of several business-focused teams across SSE Renewables or SSEN Transmission, gaining exposure to areas such as:
- Commercial analysis and business performance
- Business planning and forecasting
- Regulation and policy
- Risk, change and project delivery support
- Stakeholder and customer engagement
- Data insight and decision-making
- Investment appraisal and value improvement
Depending on your placement, you may support commercial activities within SSE Renewables, including onshore and offshore renewable assets, or contribute to business planning, regulation, customer and stakeholder engagement, project services and performance improvement activities within SSEN Transmission.

Alongside real business experience, you'll benefit from mentoring, structured development opportunities and support from experienced professionals across SSE.
Following successful completion of the programme, you'll have the opportunity to progress into a permanent role within SSE. Potential destination roles include Business Analyst, Regulation Analyst, Risk Analyst, Change Analyst, Project Analyst, Reporting Analyst and Planning Analyst positions.
What We're Looking For
You'll have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Analytics, Business Management, Data Science, Economics or Mathematics.
