An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Analyst to join our successful Commercial & Operations Finance team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded analyst who enjoys working with data, identifying trends and turning information into meaningful insight.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will play an important role in providing high-quality commercial analysis and insight to support effective decision-making, improve business performance and drive shareholder value.

Working closely with our Finance, Commercial, Sales and Operational teams, you will produce, interpret and analyse reporting to provide a clear view of business performance. Importantly, you will go beyond reporting the numbers – identifying trends, highlighting risks and opportunities and providing commentary and recommendations that support better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, interpret and analyse commercial and operational reporting, providing clear insight into business performance.
  • Analyse customer and product spend, utilisation and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Undertake trend analysis across the business to identify areas of underperformance and support improvement plans.
  • Provide commercial analysis and insight to senior Finance, Commercial, Sales and Operational stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain reporting that provides accurate, meaningful and actionable business information.
  • Interrogate data to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reporting.
  • Support capital investment analysis through assessment of product and customer trends, utilisation and average rates.
  • Develop commercial reporting and dashboards to improve the accessibility and quality of management information.
  • Undertake ad-hoc commercial analysis and projects in response to business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing reporting and analytical processes.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Strong commercial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and interrogate data quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to apply sound judgement.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of SQL is essential.
  • Experience using Power BI is desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working with and analysing large datasets.
  • Experience with ERP applications, preferably Axapta, BPC and/or Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Experience producing commercial, financial or operational analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor information to the appropriate audience.
  • Ability to translate data and analysis into meaningful commercial insight and recommendations.
