We’re hiring: Commercial Analyst | #TeamEMR
We have an exciting opportunity to join East Midlands Railway as a Commercial Analyst, based at our head office in Derby with hybrid working available.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful commercial insight and wants to make a measurable impact on business performance.
Working within our Commercial Insights team, you’ll use data and analysis to help us better understand our customers, identify opportunities for revenue growth and support commercial decision-making across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Analysing revenue, customer and market performance to identify trends and opportunities
- Creating clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Developing dashboards and self-service reporting solutions
- Working with large and complex datasets to improve our understanding of commercial performance
- Supporting financial modelling, forecasting and business cases
- Helping teams across EMR understand the factors that drive revenue performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and ways of working

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to turn analysis into recommendations
- Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar
- Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions
- Confidence working with complex datasets
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences
- SQL experience would be beneficial, but isn’t essential
