Purpose of the role

As a Commercial Analytics Manager, you will support the business make better decisions through data, turning complex information into clear insights that drive commercial performance. Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, CRM and BI teams, you will help stakeholders understand what is happening, why it is happening, and where opportunities for improvement exist.

You will lead a Commercial Analytics team and be hands-on with data, analysis and reporting. Working directly with stakeholders across the business, you will challenge assumptions, define meaningful KPIs and deliver insights that support informed decision-making. From building analysis and dashboards to presenting recommendations and driving action, you will play a key role in helping the business maximise the value of its data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing the Commercial Analytics team, including agreeing priorities with stakeholders, allocating work and reviewing analysis for accuracy and commercial relevance.
  • Analysing acquisition, retention, customer behaviour, lifetime value, ROAS and other commercial data to identify performance drivers and opportunities for improvement.
  • Building and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reporting, including guidance and tutorials to help teams use them effectively.
  • Using SQL to work with large and complex data sets, creating and automating the data sets needed for analysis and reporting.
  • Working with stakeholders to turn business questions into specific, measurable analytical questions with appropriate KPIs, and challenge approaches that will not answer those questions.
  • Presenting analytical findings and recommendations to C-level and senior stakeholders, in a simple and commercially-relevant way.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing an analytics team, including coaching analysts, prioritising workloads and supporting their development.
  • Background in commercial analytics, BI or a similar role, analysing marketing, CRM or customer data and metrics relating to acquisition, retention and customer value.
  • Online gaming industry experience, with substantial commercial awareness.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including working with large, complex data sets and automating supporting data processes.
  • Significant experience with Excel, Tableau or an equivalent dashboarding tool, such as Looker or Power BI.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate analytical insights clearly to non-data specialist audiences.
  • Confidence in working independently and taking ownership from the initial question through to analysis, reporting and recommendations.
