Commercial and Finance Director
Location: North Yorkshire (Head Office Based)
Salary: Competitive Executive Package + Bonus + Benefits
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Commercial and Finance Director to join a growing healthcare and care home organisation based in the Boroughbridge area. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the group's strategic and financial objectives.
This is a high-profile leadership position requiring a proven finance executive with significant experience within the healthcare, social care, care home or elderly care sectors. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, support future growth initiatives and ensure the organisation maintains the highest standards of financial control, governance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and Board to develop and execute the group's long-term strategy.
- Provide financial insight and challenge to support informed decision-making.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting and business modelling initiatives.
- Support acquisitions, integration activities and organic growth opportunities.

Financial Management
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure timely and accurate management accounts and board reporting.
- Manage cash flow, treasury and working capital requirements.
- Develop financial controls and performance monitoring across the organisation.
Operational Performance
- Drive improvements in financial performance, occupancy profitability and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with operational leaders to identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost control.
- Develop KPI reporting to support performance management across the business.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance function.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and commercial awareness.
- Build strong relationships across operational and support functions.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent).
- Previous CFO, Finance Director or equivalent senior finance leadership experience.
- Significant healthcare, care home, elderly care, social care or wider care sector experience is essential.
- Proven track record of supporting multi-site operations.
- Experience presenting to Boards, investors and senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, commercial analysis and operational performance management.

- Experience within a growing or acquisitive healthcare organisation.
- Knowledge of occupancy-driven business models.
