About the Role

At Leeds Bradford Airport, effective management of capital investment is essential to delivering the infrastructure that supports our growth and future ambitions. As Commercial & Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the accounting, forecasting and commercial financial analysis of capital expenditure and associated operating costs, ensuring investment decisions are supported by accurate financial insight and robust financial control.

You'll be joining one of the UK's fastest-growing regional airports, committed to employing high-quality people who share our dedication to excellent service. Living our values to Be the Best, Work as One Team, and Do the Right Thing, you will help ensure major capital projects and operational investments are underpinned by reliable financial information, supporting the airport's continued development and long-term success.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Feel Like

In this role, around 75% of your time will be focused on managing the financial oversight of the airport's capital investment programme. You will take ownership of the accounting, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis of capital expenditure and associated operating costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of projects. You'll maintain the fixed asset register, oversee capitalisation of completed projects, prepare cashflow forecasts and provide insightful variance analysis to support informed decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
