About the Role
We're looking for a Commercial Assistant / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Hatfield, supporting the delivery of workplace fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK.
In this role, you'll support the successful commercial and operational delivery of projects by assisting Project Managers and the Commercial Manager with procurement, project administration, commercial reporting, valuations, variations, documentation management and project systems.

Responsibilities
Commercial Support
- Support project cost tracking, valuations, variations and commercial reporting across multiple fit-out projects.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with project forecasting and commercial reviews.
Procurement
- Manage procurement from obtaining quotations through to placing orders and coordinating deliveries to site.
- Compare supplier quotations, negotiate best value, monitor lead times and build strong supplier relationships.
Project Administration
- Maintain project documentation, compliance records, reporting and project systems.
- Support project planning, close-out documentation and the production of O&M manuals.
Communication & Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, suppliers and subcontractors to keep projects running smoothly.
- Coordinate project actions, support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure company processes are followed consistently.

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in a Commercial Assistant, Procurement, Project Support or Assistant QS role within construction, fit-out or refurbishment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good commercial awareness and confidence working with project costs, procurement and reporting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and keen to take ownership of responsibilities.
Desirable
- Experience within workplace fit-out or commercial interiors.
- Exposure to valuations, variations and commercial reporting.
- Experience supporting Project Managers on live construction projects.
- Experience using Procore, Breadcrumb or similar project management platforms.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
