Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to provide administrative and commercial support to the wider Commercial Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within commercial management, quantity surveying, or project controls.
The successful candidate will assist with maintaining commercial records, processing documentation, supporting reporting requirements, and helping ensure commercial processes are followed accurately and efficiently. Working closely with Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and operational teams, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects and contracts.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Commercial Team across multiple contracts and projects.
- Maintain commercial records, files, registers, and contract documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of applications, valuations, and commercial reports.
- Support the tracking and management of project costs, purchase orders, and invoicing activities.
- Collate data and information for monthly reporting requirements.
- Assist with document control, ensuring commercial documentation is stored and maintained accurately.
- Support the management of subcontractor and supplier documentation where required.
- Liaise with operational teams to obtain information required for commercial reporting and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of meeting packs, minutes, and action trackers.
- Ensure commercial systems and databases are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the wider Commercial Team with ad hoc administrative and reporting tasks as required.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience within an administrative, commercial support, finance, or business support role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Professional and proactive approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience working within construction, utilities, engineering, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Understanding of commercial processes, contracts, or project environments.
- Experience using commercial, finance, ERP, or project management systems.
- Knowledge of purchase orders, invoicing processes, or cost tracking.
- Relevant business, administration, finance, or commercial qualifications.
- Interest in developing a career within Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying.
