About The Role
We are seeking a Commercial Assistant to support the Deputy Commercial Manager with the day-to-day operation of the site Commercial Team.
The role will involve:
- Preparing payment applications
- Supporting cost control and procurement activity
- Maintaining accurate commercial records
- Assisting with KPI reporting
The Commercial Assistant will contribute to the effective commercial performance and profitability of the Hinkley Point C project by ensuring key information is accurate, well organised, and available to support timely decision-making.
This role requires a proactive approach, confidence working with numbers, and the ability to handle financial and commercial data with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Current working hours are 07:30 – 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 – 12:30 on your working Friday

What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the Deputy Commercial Manager in:
- Assembling and submitting monthly payment applications
- Data entry and management across the commercial team
- Managing data reporting and tracking performance against agreed KPIs
- Compiling and analysing project and cost data
- Preparing quotations for additional and out-of-scope works
- Conducting cost/value analysis exercises
- Forecasting labour and material requirements
- Assessing project costs and contracts
- Providing cost advice to clients and project teams
- Supporting the commercial awareness of operational teams, including guiding them through annual budgets
- Creating and maintaining visual data presentations, including graphs and charts
Essential
What We're Looking For
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manage large datasets, identify inconsistencies, and correct errors accurately
- Excellent numerical skills, with the ability to perform quick and accurate calculations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and presentations using data from multiple sources
- Analytically and mathematically minded individual, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and anomalies in data
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others to solve problems
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly in various formats
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively under pressure

Desirable
- Familiarity with financial or commercial reporting processes
- Experience working with large datasets or data reporting tools
- Experience in data entry and data management
- A working knowledge of SAP or similar procurement software
- Experience working on large-scale projects within nuclear or similarly regulated sectors
Site Requirements
This role is based at Hinkley Point C.
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols
- You must be able to obtain the HPC pass
- The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access
- This role is based on site and is currently operating a 9-day fortnight rota (subject to change)
