Commercial Assistant

Stagecoach South At Stagecoach South, we help millions of people travel across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex every year. As our network continues to evolve and adapt to changing customer needs, we're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to join our Commercial Team and help shape the services our communities rely on every day. This new role will be based at our Chichester Head Office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for public transport and a keen interest in how bus networks are planned, developed and improved.

What you'll be doing As part of our Commercial Team, you'll play a key role in helping us monitor, develop and improve our bus network across the South. Working with a variety of data, systems and colleagues from across the business, you'll support the delivery of reliable, efficient and customer-focused services.

You'll be involved in:

  • Analysing passenger, revenue and performance data to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Reviewing and proof-reading timetables to ensure accuracy before publication.
  • Maintaining the journey planning data that powers our customer information systems and helping to update it to reflect roadworks, diversions and service changes.
  • Learning and using our Optibus scheduling platform to gain experience in the creation of efficient and practical vehicle and driver schedules.
  • Working with local schools and colleges on ticket sales, pricing, and payment arrangements for one-off school trips.
  • Supporting service planning projects and helping ensure our network meets the needs of customers and communities across the region.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Operations, Marketing and Engineering teams to support service changes and operational improvements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
