Novabook is the “Accountant for Startups”

We exist to take away the finance admin for founders by building the best bookkeeping, payroll, tax, and accounting services. We're growing fast and are now ready to build out our sales team.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: £35,000–£40,000, depending on experience
  • Commission: Uncapped commission on every deal closed. Typical on-target earnings are £50,000–£60,000, with top performers earning £75,000–£100,000.

Why join us?

  • Proven founders: We've built and sold an 8-figure startup (Seneca Learning) before, our founders have been named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and Maserati 100.
  • Amazing team: We've hired a 50-person super talented team with experience working at Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Financial Times, EY, PwC, and Strategy&.
  • Fast growing: We’re building Novabook to become a unicorn. In just over two years, we’ve signed hundreds of clients, delivered strong month-on-month growth, and built amazing retention.
  • Well-funded: We've raised over £10M in funding to build around workflows, payments, open banking, payroll, and automated bookkeeping domains.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Culture

We are well-funded but the hardest period of a start-up is always the first couple of years, when the team is small, and you are heavily relied on personally. But this also exposes you to the most interesting period of a company’s lifecycle and also the period where you can learn the most and earn the most material rewards. You won’t be expected to work evenings and weekends, but you will be expected to work hard when on the job. Some days this includes networking events in the evening.

About the role

We’re hiring Commercial Associates to join Novabook as we scale as an AI-native company on an ambitious unicorn journey. We're growing our sales team from two Commercial Associates to five in the coming 12 months. You will be among the first two to join working day-to-day with our COO. We already have a proven sales process having closed several million in ARR and supporting hundreds of businesses. The role will be a combination of prospecting and relationship-building to pipeline management and customer conversations. You will own the deal cycle from beginning to end. This is a fast-paced, high-ownership environment designed for someone who's hungry to have more responsibility, steep learning, and the chance to grow alongside the company.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Ability to learn quickly: Our sales team aren't accountants, but you will have to pick up the fundamentals. We'll help with this via internal learning tools, recordings, and training.
  • Hungry to close deals: This is a commission-based role. The more you close, the more you earn. This should excite you. Given the volume of deals, it'll be important to have a good eye for details and keep everything clear. If you do well, you can earn 6-figures in this role.
  • Actually wants to do sales: You'll speak to many different founders & business owners each day. Attend networking events & dinners. Meeting and helping new people should energize you.

About the application process (less than 2 weeks)

The hiring process consists of four steps:

  • An introductory Form
  • A time-bound task
  • Interview with COO
  • Interview with CEO
