Hexagon is an innovative and responsive housing association working in partnership with a range of local authorities to meet housing needs across Southeast London. With a turnover of £40m, 120 staff and over 4,000 homes, Hexagon is continually improving the quality and range of our affordable homes and services.
As an organisation we are concerned with people, their homes, and communities. We make good quality, affordable housing, and services available to people in the local areas we serve, and work to extend opportunities and improve the neighbourhoods they live in.
We are seeking a commercially strong, detail focused Commercial Assurance Manager to lead robust cost control over Hexagon’s repairs, maintenance, compliance, planned investment, building safety and specialist property contracts. You will also provide independent commercial assurance across Property Services contracts and support continuous improvement through audit, data analysis and performance challenge.
This new role sits at the heart of Property Services providing robust commercial oversight of contracts, supplier performance, expenditure, variations, recharges and cost recovery opportunities. You will use data, financial analysis, and contract management expertise to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve commercial performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
