Commercial Finance Broker

Location: West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 DOE + Uncapped Commission
Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working

The Opportunity

GMP Worldwide is partnering with an established and ambitious commercial finance brokerage to recruit an experienced Commercial Finance Broker. Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering tailored funding solutions to businesses across the UK, combining strong lender relationships with a genuinely consultative approach to commercial finance.

With an extensive network of funding partners and a commitment to providing clients with the right financial solutions, the business is looking to strengthen its team with a commercially minded, relationship-driven individual who can contribute to its continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced broker, commercial banking professional, or specialist lending adviser looking to develop their career within an entrepreneurial, supportive, and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Commercial Finance Broker, you will be responsible for supporting businesses with their funding requirements, identifying appropriate finance solutions, and managing transactions from initial enquiry through to successful completion. Working with a broad panel of lenders, you will develop long-term relationships with clients, introducers, and funding partners, providing commercially sound advice throughout the funding process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, structure, and arrange commercial finance solutions tailored to individual client requirements.
  • Advise businesses on a range of funding products, including commercial mortgages, bridging finance, development finance, asset finance, and business loans.
  • Manage the complete funding lifecycle, from initial fact-find and financial assessment through to lender negotiations and completion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, specialist lenders, alternative funders, and other financial institutions.
  • Develop new business opportunities through professional introducers, existing client relationships, and proactive business development.
  • Establish strong relationships with accountants, solicitors, property professionals, and other referral partners.
  • Assess financial information, business performance, affordability, and lending requirements to determine suitable funding options.
  • Negotiate competitive funding terms on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure transactions are conducted in accordance with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to support business growth and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who have experience within commercial finance brokerage, business banking, corporate lending, or specialist property finance. • An understanding of commercial lending products, funding structures, and lender criteria.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • The ability to assess financial information and present credible funding proposals.
  • A proactive approach to business development and relationship building.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple live transactions.
  • A genuine interest in helping businesses access appropriate funding solutions.
  • An established network of introducers or lender relationships would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
  • We would also welcome applications from experienced commercial banking professionals looking to transition into the brokerage market.
