To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Commercial Business Analyst in the Group IT Department to join us in our Global Commercial site based in Coventry.
The Role
Lotus is looking for an experienced Commercial Business Analyst to join our IT team in Coventry, playing a key role in shaping and optimising our Order to Delivery (OTD) and Aftersales business systems.
Acting as the critical link between our business stakeholders and technology teams, you will translate commercial and operational requirements into effective digital solutions that improve efficiency, support revenue growth and enhance the customer and dealer experience.
Working across Commercial, Sales, Aftersales, Operations, Dealer Networks and IT, you will analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, define requirements and support the delivery of strategic technology initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst who combines strong commercial understanding with systems and technology expertise and wants to help shape the future digital landscape at Lotus.
What You'll Do
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead requirements-gathering activities through workshops, interviews and stakeholder sessions.
- Analyse and document current "As-Is" and future "To-Be" business processes.
- Develop clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process maps and workflow diagrams.
- Conduct gap analyses and impact assessments to support business and digital transformation.
- Ensure requirements are clearly defined, prioritised and aligned with commercial objectives.
- Support the development of business cases, including expected benefits, risks, costs and return on investment.
- Validate proposed solutions against agreed business requirements.
Commercial Systems & Processes
- Act as a key point of expertise for Order to Delivery and Aftersales processes and systems, analysing end-to-end customer, dealer and operational journeys.
- Your work will support systems and processes covering areas including:
- Quotation management
- Vehicle ordering and fulfilment
- Dealer order management
- Inventory visibility
- Service planning
- Warranty processing
- Parts ordering and logistics
- Service and repair management
- Use system performance, business data and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer retention, revenue generation and dealer satisfaction.
Product & Solution Delivery
- Support the development and management of product backlogs for OTD and Aftersales platforms.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, Architects and UX/UI teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing, demonstrations and release activities.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
- Assist with release planning, deployment and post-implementation reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement across business processes and system capabilities.

Data & Business Insights
- Analyse commercial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Develop reports, dashboards and performance measures to support business decision-making.
- Monitor KPIs across sales operations, order fulfilment, customer experience and Aftersales.
- Provide data-led recommendations to improve business performance.
- Support management reporting and strategic planning.
Stakeholder & Change Management
- Build strong relationships across Sales, Aftersales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, IT and our Dealer Network.
- Facilitate workshops and working groups to align requirements and priorities.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout project and change lifecycles.
- Act as a trusted advisor on systems, process improvement and digital transformation.
- Support business readiness, training materials, user documentation and adoption of new systems and processes.
- Gather user feedback and ensure improvement opportunities are captured and prioritised.
What We're Looking For
You will bring strong Business Analysis experience, ideally gained within an automotive, commercial, sales, order management or Aftersales environment.
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience as a Business Analyst, Commercial Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar role.
- A proven track record of delivering technology-enabled business transformation.
- Experience working with commercial processes, sales operations, order management systems and/or Aftersales.
- Strong experience translating business requirements into successful technology solutions.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery environments.
- Excellent business process mapping and documentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience creating user stories, functional specifications, process maps, business cases, gap analyses and impact assessments.
- An understanding of APIs, integrations, system architecture concepts and data flows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience of Power BI advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Automotive Experience
Previous automotive experience would be highly desirable, particularly knowledge or experience of:
- Order to Delivery (OTD)
- Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
- Automotive sales operations
- Aftersales operations
- Warranty management
- Parts and inventory management
- Digital automotive retail platforms
- Dealer and customer lifecycle processes
Language
- Fluent English is required.
- Mandarin Chinese language skills would be highly desirable, particularly for working effectively with our UK and China-based stakeholders, suppliers and development partners.
Qualifications & Additional Experience

- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline would be beneficial.
- Additional desirable experience includes:
- Working within a multinational organisation.
- Business Analysis qualifications such as CBAP, CCBA or BCS Business Analysis Practitioner.
- Agile qualifications such as CSPO, PSPO, Scrum Master or SAFe.
- Experience with CRM, ERP, DMS or automotive retail platforms.
- Power BI, SQL, data analytics or business intelligence reporting.
- Supporting large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Working with geographically dispersed and cross-cultural teams.
- Understanding of UK/EU data protection requirements and GDPR.

- This role will be working from our Coventry office. This role will be working on-site, full time.
