Do you have commercial finance experience and a passion for delivering value?
Join Amplius as a Commercial Business Partner, providing commercial and financial assurance across our retrofit, decarbonisation and major works programmes. Working closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, you’ll support informed decisions, effective financial control and successful programme delivery.
Salary: £56,650 per year
Contract: Permanent, full time
Your week: 36.25 hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Location: Hybrid, with regular weekly attendance at our Peterborough office. Travel to our Milton Keynes, Rushden and Boston offices, contractor sites and other locations across our operating region will be required as needed.

Snapshot of your role
- Provide commercial and financial support across retrofit, decarbonisation and major works programmes.
- Review and verify contractor payment applications, ensuring completed works are accurately evidenced, valued and compliant with contracts.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts and programme expenditure, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Produce commercial and financial reports to support programme boards, senior managers and operational teams.
- Support grant claims, funding drawdowns and expenditure reporting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and maintaining robust audit trails.
- Work closely with Finance, Sustainability, Assets, Procurement, contractors and other stakeholders to provide commercial advice and improve decision-making.
- Contribute to business cases, investment planning, programme controls and continuous improvements that strengthen financial governance and value for money.

What You’ll Need To Thrive In This Role
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or contractor-side commercial role, including reviewing valuations, variations, payment applications and contract performance.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting and producing financial reports.
- Strong commercial awareness, excellent business partnering skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills, with strong financial analysis and accounting knowledge.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- A proactive, resilient and professional approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value for money.
