We are actively seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Commercial Category Manager to join us in this brand new role.

The Role:

Taking ownership of the commercial performance of assigned product categories, you will be responsible for sales pricing, margin management, and range optimisation across The Underfloor Heating Store. Working closely alongside the Technical Category Management team, this is a hands-on role where you will scale and grow the business by reviewing our sales mix and translating commercial insight into clear, data-driven actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage product selling prices, ensuring they remain commercially competitive while achieving required margin targets.
  • Analyse product and category sales data to identify trends, risks, underperforming products, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor gross margin performance across different sales channels and recommend corrective actions to improve overall profitability.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, discounts, and commercial activity to inform future targeted campaigns.
  • Track competitor pricing, product ranges, and market positioning within the heating and wider home-improvement sectors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Purchasing to deliver prioritised commercial plans.

You:

  • You possess proven experience in category management, commercial management, pricing, or a related analytical role.
  • You have advanced Excel skills and a demonstrable ability to turn complex data into clear, practical commercial recommendations.
  • You bring a strong understanding of revenue, gross margin, average selling price, and product mix.
  • You are commercially curious, proactive, and confident in presenting evidence-based plans to senior management.
  • Experience in the plumbing, heating, or construction products industry is preferred but not essential.
