Commercial Co-Founder - MSP SaaS
Identity changes in Microsoft environments are high-risk, inconsistently controlled and often difficult to prove. CooperBox has built the governance layer for them. We are now looking for a commercial co-founder to take the product to market.
About CooperBox
CooperBox is a UK technology company building governance-first software for processes and decisions that must be controlled, traceable and auditable.
In 2026, CooperBox was featured in Tech Nation’s Breakout 50, recognising 50 of the UK’s most promising early-stage technology companies.
Our current commercial focus is JML360, a governed service layer for joiner, mover and leaver management across Microsoft Entra and Microsoft 365.
JML360 sits between an identity-change request and its execution. It establishes who is authorised to request a change, applies policy, captures the necessary approvals, controls execution and preserves a complete record of what was requested, approved and changed.
For MSPs, this creates an opportunity to:
- Standardise JML processes across customer environments
- Reduce over-provisioning, scope drift and inconsistent access decisions
- Provide customers with stronger governance and audit evidence
- Reduce unnecessary intervention in routine identity changes
- Create a repeatable managed service that can generate recurring revenue
JML360 works alongside platforms such as Rewst, n8n and CIPP rather than attempting to replace them.
Where we are
JML360 is a working product, not a presentation or early-stage concept.
We have established the production environment and are working with an MSP development partner to validate the product against real operational requirements, workflows and commercial expectations.
The product has been built. The problem is understood. Initial market conversations are underway.
What CooperBox does not yet have is a proven and repeatable commercial engine. Building that engine is the purpose of this role.
The opportunity
You will work alongside CooperBox’s Founder and CEO to build the commercial side of the business.
This is a hands-on operating role. You will not inherit an SDR team, an established marketing function or a mature inbound pipeline. Initially, you will personally create opportunities, lead discovery, qualify prospects, develop partnerships, negotiate and close.
Your objective will be to establish a credible and repeatable route to market for JML360 through MSPs, Microsoft-focused IT service providers and relevant technology partners.
This is not simply a sales position with a co-founder title. You will influence positioning, pricing, packaging, partnerships, customer success and long-term company strategy. You will also share the uncertainty, responsibility and potential value creation associated with building an early-stage technology company.
What you will own
You will take responsibility for:
- Identifying the MSP segments most likely to buy, adopt and successfully resell JML360
- Generating and qualifying commercial opportunities without relying on an existing inbound engine
- Leading discovery, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations and closing
- Refining the commercial proposition through evidence from genuine buyer conversations
- Developing MSP, Microsoft ecosystem and channel relationships
- Creating the sales collateral and campaigns required to support active opportunities
- Establishing practical CRM, pipeline-management and forecasting discipline
- Helping define pricing, packaging, onboarding and partner economics
- Bringing structured customer and market evidence into product decisions
- Supporting early customers and turning successful adoption into credible commercial evidence
- Contributing to fundraising, strategic partnerships and the wider development of CooperBox

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will be expected to sell personally before proposing the recruitment of a larger commercial team.
What success looks like
During the initial stage, success will mean establishing clear evidence of:
- A defined MSP segment with a demonstrable reason to buy
- Messaging that survives real commercial conversations
- A repeatable method for creating serious MSP opportunities
- An honestly qualified pipeline with realistic next steps and forecasts
- Pricing and packaging supported by buyer behaviour
- Early paying customers and credible reference evidence
- A sales and onboarding process that can eventually transfer to a wider team
We are interested in commercial outcomes, not inflated pipeline figures, superficial introductions or activity without progression.
What we are looking for
We are looking for evidence of personal execution rather than senior titles or polished sales language.
You should be able to demonstrate that you have:
- Generated B2B opportunities yourself without depending entirely on inbound leads, SDRs or an established brand
- Personally led discovery, handled objections, negotiated and closed
- Sold B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, identity, Microsoft cloud or managed services
- Worked with, for or sold into MSPs, IT service providers or Microsoft ecosystem partners
- Built commercial processes in an early-stage or resource-constrained environment
- Translated technical capabilities into clear commercial and operational value
- Used customer and market evidence to challenge your own assumptions
- Operated with discipline, transparency and realistic forecasting
Experience with Microsoft Entra, identity governance, JML processes or the MSP channel would be a significant advantage. It is not a substitute for the ability to originate and close business.
This role is unlikely to suit you if
- You are looking for an advisory, consultancy or introducer arrangement
- You require an established team, brand or mature inbound pipeline
- Your first response to the challenge is to hire salespeople
- You rely on your network without having a repeatable sales process
- You prefer managing an established commercial function to building one
- You want a co-founder title without founder-level uncertainty and accountability
- You require a guaranteed salary from the beginning

Working together
We expect constructive disagreement and intellectual honesty.
You must be prepared to challenge product and commercial assumptions when market evidence contradicts them. Equally, you should be willing to change your own position when the evidence changes.
Product and commercial decisions will be shaped collaboratively, with each founder remaining accountable for execution within their area.
Founder terms
This is a genuine full-time co-founder appointment, not an advisory, consultancy or commission-only position.
- Initial cash compensation: No fixed salary is available during the pre-revenue stage. Commission will be paid on qualifying sales. The commission structure and rate will be agreed during the founder negotiations.
- Founder equity: Meaningful founder equity of up to 20%. The final allocation, vesting arrangements and associated shareholder rights will be agreed as part of the founder negotiations.
- Future salary: The introduction of a salary will be considered as CooperBox generates sustainable commercial income or secures appropriate funding.
- Location: Hybrid, combining remote working with regular in-person collaboration in Stockton-on-Tees.
- Travel: Customer, partner and relevant industry meetings as required. Reasonable pre-approved business expenses will be reimbursed.
- Commitment: CooperBox must become the successful candidate’s principal professional commitment.
The final package will reflect the candidate’s experience, commitment, responsibilities and the level of risk accepted during the pre-revenue stage.
Commission, equity, vesting, decision rights, dilution, intellectual-property obligations and leaver provisions will be agreed transparently and documented through appropriate founder and shareholder agreements before appointment.
How to apply
Please send your CV or LinkedIn profile together with short answers to the following questions:
- How would you create the first five serious MSP conversations for JML360? Please be specific about the buyers, channels and approach you would use.
- Describe a B2B deal you personally originated and closed. Explain how you found the opportunity, the buyer involved, what nearly prevented the sale and what you personally did to move it forward.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial conversation covering the opportunity, relevant experience and founder alignment. This will be followed by a deeper discussion of commercial capability, working style, commitment and the proposed founder terms.
We value verifiable evidence, clear thinking, intellectual honesty and disciplined execution.
