Role: Compliance Co-ordinator

Hours: 40 per week Monday - Friday

Location: Preston, Head Office

Salary: £30,000 per annum plus commission structure

The Role:

To act as the first point of contact for all incoming WEEE and Battery enquiries, providing a professional and responsive service while identifying opportunities that support both Recycling Lives Services operational sites and Producer Compliance Scheme obligations.

The role qualifies enquiries, gathers information and coordinates internally to ensure each opportunity is directed to the appropriate commercial or operational lead. Working closely with operational sites, customer service, compliance, transport and commercial teams, the role develops a broad understanding of the wider business to recognise cross-selling opportunities and drive additional material volumes.

The Business:

Recycling Lives Services is not a typical recycling company. Since 2008, the business has been structurally built around social value, employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds, partnering with the justice system to reduce reoffending, and delivering environmental excellence at scale. The social mission is not a layer added on top of commercial activity. It is the reason the business operates in the way it does.

As a certified B Corp (scoring 103.5 against a business median of 50.9), Recycling Lives Services generated £42.9m in social value in 2024, achieved a 61% reduction in CO2 emissions, and diverted 97% of waste from landfill. 15% of our team have been welcomed through our rehabilitation programmes, and only 6% of people we support reoffend — compared to a national average of over 25%.

We operate UK-wide across construction, manufacturing, retail, utilities and public sector markets, offering total waste management, WEEE recycling, and specialist hazardous waste services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
