Description
We are currently looking for a Commercial Communication & Marketing Officer to join our Commercial team on a full-time, permanent contract.
Role
The role sits within our 8-person Commercial Department and reports to the Commercial Communication & Marketing Manager. This role is key to driving footfall, engagement, and revenue across the Southbank Centre’s commercial portfolio:
- Food & Drink: On-site restaurants, cafes, and bars
- Seasonal Pop-Ups: Summer food and drink pop-ups and the Southbank Centre Winter Market
- Southbank Centre Food Market: Our iconic weekend street food market
- Retail: Southbank Centre Shops in-store and online
- Venue Hire: Promoting our event spaces to corporate clients and external organisations.

The annual salary stated is based on the Full-Time Equivalent (40 hours per week). If the job is part-time, the weekly hours will be stated within the advert.

Key Responsibilities
- Devise and coordinate campaign activity in collaboration with the Commercial Communication & Marketing Manager, with the aim of achieving financial goals. This will include the production of social media, email, digital, and print, and distribution across a range of channels.
- Plan, write and deliver email campaigns for the Southbank Centre Shop while integrating commercial content into wider organisational newsletters, continually testing to ensure activity is optimised around customer insight and response rates.
- Working closely with the Social Media and Commercial team, plan and create compelling Social Media content for the Southbank Centre Food Market to promote it and the Southbank Centre as a destination.
- Support Southbank Centre’s relationship with Commercial partners by providing marketing advice and guidance to ensure the Southbank Centre brand is consistently represented and supported.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key external partners and colleagues in Press, Marketing, Digital, Insight, Design, and Commercial departments to ensure campaigns are coordinated, delivered on time, and communicated clearly.

Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience of delivering successful marketing activity across all marketing channels including social media, email, digital, and print. Is interested in the Southbank Centre's Commercial portfolio - food and drink, retail, and Venue Hire.
- Has an understanding as to how Southbank Centre’s Commercial revenue works to support broader innovative, bold, and experimental ambitions and activates the wider Southbank Centre site.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to inform campaigns, using various sources such as Shopify, Google Analytics, and Looker Studio. Have a self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to prioritise, managing a sizable workload and juggling various projects, and to work flexibly.
