Commercial Contracts Manager

Location: Perth
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Hybrid Working Available (up to a 3:2 office-to-home working arrangement)
Salary: Available on request

Are you an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager looking to play a key role in supporting commercial interests across a diverse portfolio of construction projects?

Pettigrew Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing construction business to recruit an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager. This position offers the opportunity to become a trusted commercial advisor, ensuring contracts are robust, risks are effectively managed and projects are supported from tender stage through to successful completion.

Working closely with Directors, project teams, clients and external legal advisors, you will provide expert contractual guidance while helping to safeguard the commercial success of the business.

Offering an excellent work-life balance, this role provides hybrid working with a flexible split of up to three days in the office and two days working from home.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of construction contracts who enjoys balancing commercial awareness with relationship management. You'll take ownership of reviewing, preparing and negotiating a wide range of contracts while supporting project teams with contractual compliance, risk management and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare and negotiate client, subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Identify contractual risks and work alongside senior management and legal advisors to mitigate them.
  • Lead contractual correspondence with clients, consultants and legal representatives.
  • Ensure contractual documentation accurately reflects agreed commercial terms prior to execution.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and compliance.
  • Support the management of contractual notices, variations, extensions of time and claims.
  • Assist with the resolution of contractual disputes where required.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates and internal procedures.
  • Monitor contractual compliance throughout the lifecycle of live projects.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, industry standards and contractual best practice.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have experience in a commercial or contractual role within the construction industry and possess a thorough understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience reviewing and administering construction contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence communicating with clients, consultants and legal professionals.
  • The ability to interpret complex contractual documentation and explain it clearly to others.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a practical, solutions focused approach to problem solving.
