I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Significant experience negotiating complex commercial contracts with Tier 1 and strategically important suppliers, comfortable balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
  • A track record of managing and improving contract lifecycle systems, building governance frameworks and scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience (or genuine eagerness to build) AI-assisted workflows, automations or agents, plus real comfort connecting platforms, data and workflows across different teams and systems.
  • Strong stakeholder influence, comfortable partnering with and influencing Legal, Finance, Technology and C-suite stakeholders, with a naturally curious, iterative builder mindset.
  • A naturally curious, commercially minded builder: someone keen to understand how suppliers create value, unafraid to challenge the status quo, and energised by testing, simplifying and improving how things work.

Bonus points if you've got experience in a high-growth digital marketplace or technology business, know your way around SaaS, technology licensing and data privacy (including GDPR), or have integrated contract lifecycle or supplier management platforms with finance, workflow, ticketing or document-management systems.
