About The Role

We're seeking a highly motivated Commercial Contracts Specialist to join our growing legal team. You'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Twinkl group, providing accurate legal support, managing matters independently, and tackling a diverse range of legal practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key role in the efficient and effective operation of the legal department. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Legal Research: You will undertake comprehensive legal research on a variety of topics relevant to Twinkl’s operations, leveraging your knowledge and analytical skills to identify legal issues and give commercially-focused advice.
- Drafting/Reviewing Legal Documents: You will be responsible for the drafting and preparation, reviewing, marking-up, negotiation, and proofreading of a range of legal documents, including contracts, policies, notices, leases, and letters.
- Managing and Prioritising Legal Matters: You will effectively manage a high volume of legal work, prioritising tasks strategically to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Staying Up to Date on Legal Developments: You will proactively stay up-to-date on the latest legal developments relevant to Twinkl, ensuring that the business operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Managing Risks: You’ll play a proactive role in safeguarding Twinkl by identifying potential legal risks associated with various business activities in a fast-paced innovation-first environment. Through analysis and research, you’ll develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Projects: You will independently manage legal matters from instruction to completion.
- AI & Automation: You will help with building Twinkl's Legal Team's AI systems, including creating playbooks and automations.

Skills You’ll Need
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills
Qualifications & Experience
- A Law Degree or GDL (essential).
- Proven experience operating within a law firm, in-house legal team, or legal operations environment (essential).
- Practical experience reviewing, advising on, and negotiating SaaS and general commercial agreements (desirable).
- Working knowledge across key practice areas relevant to Twinkl (e.g., commercial/contract law, intellectual property, or employment law) (desirable).
- Fully qualified lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction (e.g., England & Wales, Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, etc.) (desirable).
