Commercial Data Analyst (Qlik) | 6 Month Contract | Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | Immediate Start
KDR are working with a global consumer products business looking for an experienced Commercial Data Analyst to join their data function on an initial 6-month contract.
This is an opportunity to join the business during an important period of change for the data team, helping to bridge the gap between a technically focused data function and the commercial teams using the data.
The role is less about simply taking requirements and building dashboards, and more about understanding what the business is trying to achieve, identifying the right measures and translating that into clear, actionable insight.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping improve how data is understood, communicated and ultimately used to make commercial decisions.
What you’ll do
- Bridge Data & the Business: Act as the link between technical and non-technical teams, understanding business challenges and translating them into meaningful analytical requirements.
- Define the Right Measures: Work with stakeholders to establish appropriate KPIs, metrics and leading indicators rather than simply reporting on what already exists.
- Build Commercial Insight: Turn data into clear, actionable insight that helps stakeholders understand performance and make better decisions.
- Develop Qlik Reporting: Build and improve user-friendly Qlik dashboards and reporting that give the business access to the information that actually matters.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Work directly with commercial teams, asking the right questions, challenging requirements where appropriate and helping improve data literacy across the business.
- Improve Ways of Working: Help create a more commercially focused approach to analytics and improve the relationship between the data function and its internal customers.

What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced Data Analyst who combines strong analytical capability with the communication and commercial skills needed to work directly with business stakeholders.
We’re looking for:
- Strong Qlik experience
- Commercially focused Data Analytics experience
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Experience translating business requirements into KPIs and metrics
- Dashboarding and data visualisation experience
- Ability to communicate data and insight to non-technical audiences
- Experience turning analysis into actionable business insight
- Confidence challenging requirements and asking the right commercial questions

Nice to have:
- FMCG or retail experience would be particularly useful
- Experience working with commercial, sales, marketing or customer data
- Understanding of leading indicators and KPIs within a consumer-focused business
- Exposure to Alteryx would be beneficial but is not essential
Why this one is interesting
This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a list of dashboards to build.
They want someone who can get closer to the business, understand what stakeholders are trying to achieve and make sure the data function is delivering insight that is genuinely useful.
With the wider data team going through a period of change, you'll also have an opportunity to influence how analytics is delivered and help establish better ways of working for the longer term.
The contract is initially for 6 months, outside IR35 and can be worked fully remotely.
