Product Owner

About the Role

Allianz Commercial brings together the large corporate, mid-corporate and Digital insurance expertise of Allianz. Our Strategic Enablement team exists to help the business work smarter: equipping our underwriters, distribution teams and leaders with the capabilities, insight and tools they need to grow profitably.

Data Exploitation is one of the core pillars of Strategic Enablement. Our purpose is simple – to turn the data we receive and hold into a genuine competitive advantage, so that we can make faster, better-informed decisions, build a richer understanding of our customers and serve our brokers and clients more effectively.

We are looking for a Product Owner to lead the development and exploitation of data within Allianz Commercial. You will own the vision, roadmap and backlog for a portfolio of data products, working with a cross-functional Scrum team to take ideas from concept through to delivery and into everyday use across the business.

The role will align to the data priorities and squad structure agreed for Commercial. Its focus will span one or more business domains. You will work across Allianz Commercial, using your broad understanding of the business to identify priorities, shape data products and ensure they deliver practical value. You will bring together business and data colleagues, build strong relationships and turn business needs into clear outcomes for the team.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who is passionate about data, comfortable making decisions and excited by the opportunity to change how a commercial insurer works.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for how we use data products to capture and use key business data accurately and at pace.
  • Set the product vision for how data is brought together, governed and used across Allianz Commercial.
  • Work with business teams and data specialists to deliver a trusted view of the data measuring the value delivered to business teams.
  • Drive improvements in data quality and ensure data is integrated with our workflows and reporting so it can be leveraged.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to use data to improve decision making, business performance and portfolio steering turning insight into practical tools, dashboards and data products.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the Scrum team, defining epics and user stories, accepting or rejecting completed work, and keeping the backlog prioritised, visible and refined ahead of sprint planning.
  • Prepare for and contribute to Program Increment (PI) planning, including the product vision, roadmap and team PI objectives.
  • Make clear, timely decisions on what gets built and when, balancing a Minimum Viable Product with the greatest business benefit and time-critical needs.
  • Build strong relationships with business owners, leaders, domain specialists, fellow Product Owners, Release Train Engineers and Programme Leads.
  • Regularly demonstrate progress so that the business is aware of change ahead of releases and ready to adopt it.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
