World Wide Technology (WWT)

WWT strives to make a new world happen. Its work benefits clients and partners as much as it does its people and communities across the globe.

Founded in 1990, WWT brings together strategy, deep technical expertise and world-class partnerships. It helps public and private sector organisations design, build and scale intelligent AI, digital, cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure solutions. Through its Advanced Technology Center (ATC), a collaborative ecosystem featuring state-of-the-art hardware and software, WWT enables clients and partners to conceptualise, test and validate innovative technology. They can then deploy solutions at scale using WWT's global integration and distribution capabilities.

With more than 14,000 team members and over 60 locations globally, WWT has a culture grounded in core values and leadership philosophies. Fortune® and Great Place to Work have recognised it for its commitment to innovation, trust and creating a great place to work for all.

The Role

The Commercial Deal Architect sits at the intersection of sales, finance, and delivery, shaping technology solutions that work commercially for both the customer and WWT. This role brings deep knowledge of customer budget cycles and procurement process into every pursuit, partners closely with account teams to construct and defend deal structures, and manages commercial risk from qualification through to close — presenting that structure and risk position clearly to internal leadership and to the customer alike.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer budget cycles, funding processes, and procurement pathways, and align WWT deal timing and structure to them.
  • Interface directly with customer teams across finance, procurement, and IT leadership to support commercial deal construct and negotiation.
  • Provide advisory and recommendations that shape commercially viable solutions, balancing customer affordability against WWT profitability and risk tolerance.
  • Work closely alongside the sales team throughout the deal lifecycle as the commercial and financial subject-matter expert on pursuits.
  • Build and maintain deep expertise in WWT’s commercial capabilities, financing and leasing options, and contract vehicles, as well as each customer’s business and operating environment.
  • Diagnose customer cost and operational challenges, and construct commercial solutions to overcome them including financing structures, phased delivery, and consumption-based models.
  • Identify, assess, and actively manage commercial risk across deals, including pricing exposure, contractual terms, margin erosion, and delivery risk and put mitigations in place before deals proceed to approval.
  • Present deal rationale, commercial structure, and risk position clearly to both internal leadership (for approval and governance) and to customers (for buy-in), tailoring the message to each audience while keeping risk and trade-offs transparent.
  • Operate effectively amid constantly changing parameters, timelines, and stakeholders, within fast-moving, global virtual teams.
  • Apply deal governance and qualification frameworks drawn from experience as a Commercial/Finance Lead, Pursuit/Bid Lead, or deal qualification advisor to strengthen and de-risk pursuits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
