Are you naturally curious about markets, competitors and customer behaviour?

Do you enjoy turning complex data into meaningful commercial insight that influences business decisions?

We're looking for a Commercial Demand Planner to join Curaleaf Laboratories in Sunderland. This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of our Commercial, Supply Chain and Product teams. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how market intelligence, patient insight and commercial forecasting support decision-making in one of the UK's fastest-evolving healthcare sectors.

About The Role

As our Commercial Demand Planner, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining Curaleaf's view of the UK medical cannabis market. You'll monitor competitor activity, analyse market trends, gather patient and product insights, and translate these findings into meaningful demand signals that help drive commercial and supply planning decisions.

This is not a traditional supply planning role. It complements our existing Supply Planner, who owns the short-term operational forecast. Your focus will be the longer-range, unconstrained view of the market, typically 6 to 24 months out, providing the market intelligence, competitor and pricing insight and portfolio recommendations that inform S&OP, new product introduction and pricing decisions.

Reporting to the Head of Sales & Commercial, you'll work closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Product, Data and Pharmacy teams, becoming a trusted source of market and competitor intelligence across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the UK Commercial Demand Signal

  • Build and maintain a broad view of product, pricing and commercial activity across the UK market, including an active view of all competitors.
  • Run a monthly forecasting cadence with the UK commercial team, capturing input on pipeline, customer behaviour and channel dynamics.
  • Translate qualitative commercial input into a structured input for the Supply Planner, clearly labelled as market signal rather than an operational forecast.
  • Act as the market intelligence voice in the UK, translating findings into key risks and opportunities for the business.
  • Maintain ongoing insight into our current SKU offering and how it is performing against the market.
  • Work with Product teams to understand the performance of new SKUs and patient feedback.

Market Intelligence & Competitor Insight

  • Work closely with the Data team to maintain an ongoing review of competitor behaviour in the UK market, including product launches, range changes, channel shifts and commercial activity.
  • Gather online feedback on specific strains and translate it into tangible insight for the Commercial team.
  • Support scenario planning, modelling what the demand signal looks like under different pricing, regulatory or competitive scenarios.
  • Work with colleagues in similar roles in other Curaleaf markets to understand what is selling there and assess what could be brought into the UK portfolio.

Long-Range Portfolio Input

  • Provide a view on whether current pricing is positioned correctly and whether the market is likely to sustain its current shape, to support longer-range portfolio and pricing decisions.
  • Draw on insight from other markets to influence new product introduction, including new product formats, trends and activity as the market matures.

Who You'll Work With

  • Head of Commercial: turning market insight into commercial action.
  • Supply Chain Manager and Head of Site Operations: making sure the market signal is usable for supply and new product planning.
  • Supply Planner: providing structured market input and jointly reviewing forecast accuracy.
  • Data team: competitor tracking, market data and analytics support.
  • B2B and B2C commercial teams: product performance, customer and patient feedback.
  • Colleagues in similar roles in other Curaleaf markets

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving commercial challenges through data, insight and curiosity.

You'll be comfortable building models from scratch, working with incomplete information and confidently presenting your findings to a range of audiences.

You're hands-on and rigorous: you understand every assumption in your models and can defend them. You're direct and constructive, able to challenge a forecast input and explain why without damaging the relationship. And you're a builder, energised by creating processes, tools and ways of working that didn't exist before.

You'll also share our values: Lead & Inspire, Commit to Win, Customer Obsession, One Curaleaf and Driven to Deliver Excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Circa 5+ years' experience in Commercial Insights, Market or Category Intelligence, Pricing, Commercial Planning, Demand or Supply Planning, or a similar analytical role.
  • Experience analysing large volumes of internal and external data; both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strong forecasting, modelling and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  • Experience translating complex information into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across Commercial, Supply Chain and Data teams, with the ability to hold a clear line between market insight and operational forecasting.
  • Experience contributing to an S&OP process, or a clear understanding of how market intelligence should feed into one.
  • Comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a genuine interest in understanding markets and customer behaviour.

Desirable

  • Experience within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical cannabis, specials or pharmaceutical wholesale, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with Power BI, demand planning software or similar tools alongside Excel.
  • Experience gathering competitor or pricing intelligence in a commercially regulated sector.

Curaleaf International is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. We value individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and we embrace the unique qualities each person brings. When you apply, please let us know of any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process.
