What will you be doing?
Across the UK and Ireland, reimagining and maintaining essential infrastructure relies on sound commercial decisions. As Commercial Director, you’ll be at the heart of these choices—helping us win work, manage risk, and create lasting value for our clients, communities and business. You’ll work closely with divisional leaders and delivery teams, tackling challenges early, planning strategically, and enabling confident decisions that drive successful delivery.
You’ll lead the commercial side of bids, ensuring our approach is robust and our tenders are realistic. From pre-contract clarity to on-site management of valuations, change control and supply chain costs, you’ll keep our commercial arrangements watertight. You'll drive reliable reporting, manage risk registers, and ensure cashflow and contract performance are always under control.
This visible leadership role involves developing future leaders, shaping a culture of excellence and inclusion, and building commercial capability across our teams. In a fast-growing mobile sector, you’ll establish scalable systems, robust processes and strong relationships with major network operators and stakeholders—including the integration of Telent Wireless to create a market-leading mobile business.

What you’ll bring;
We’re looking for a commercially astute leader with a degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline) and extensive senior experience in infrastructure or construction, backed by strong NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge. You’ll have a track record leading high-performing teams and managing complex portfolios, always building strong relationships with senior stakeholders. Clear communication, excellent IT skills—especially Excel—and a flair for data-driven decision-making are essential. Ideally, you’ll also bring chartered status (RICS or CICES, or working towards) and experience with FIDIC, JCT or other contract forms.
