Help build the next chapter of a growing business.

Some Commercial Director roles are about maintaining what already exists.

This isn't one of them.

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Director to join a forward-thinking Sheffield-based specialist contractor at an exciting point in its journey.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and joining the Senior Leadership Team, you'll have genuine influence over how the business grows, operates and succeeds.

The foundations are already in place: an excellent reputation, a strong pipeline of work and an ambitious leadership team. Now we're looking for someone who can help take the business to the next level.

You'll bring commercial leadership, operational insight and the ability to turn strategy into action. Whether that's improving systems and reporting, developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer relationships or ensuring projects deliver maximum commercial value, you'll be at the heart of every key decision.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building, not just maintaining.

Key Responsibilities

As Commercial Director, you'll lead the commercial function while working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably. You'll:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
