Commercial Director – Dual Site - FMCG Business

Location:

Southwest England / Northwest England

Salary:

Six-Figure Salary Package + Bonus + Benefits

About the Role

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Director to join a successful and growing FMCG business, overseeing commercial strategy and performance across a dual-site operation. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving business growth, maximising revenue opportunities, improving profitability, and leading the commercial direction of the organisation. Working closely with the Managing Director and CFO, you will play a key role in shaping the future strategy of the business and delivering sustainable growth across UK and international markets.

The successful candidate will have a strong background within FMCG, consumer goods, beauty, personal care, manufacturing or related sectors, with proven experience leading multi-functional teams and managing complex global customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall commercial strategy to support business growth and long-term objectives.
  • Lead commercial performance across two operational sites, ensuring alignment between sales, marketing, operations, NPD and finance teams.
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director and CFO to drive strategic decision-making and business performance.
  • Identify new revenue streams, market opportunities and commercial partnerships.
  • Own commercial budgets, forecasting, profitability targets and growth plans.
  • Provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team.

  • Lead and develop the sales strategy across UK and international markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, retailers, distributors and strategic partners.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth through new business development and existing account expansion.
  • Identify emerging market trends and translate opportunities into commercial strategies.
  • Manage negotiations with key customers and partners to maximise value and profitability.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide leadership across Marketing, Sales, Operations, NPD and Finance functions.
  • Build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration and commercial excellence.
  • Mentor and develop senior teams, ensuring clear objectives and business alignment.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve processes, efficiency and customer delivery.

Operations, NPD & Manufacturing Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations and NPD teams to ensure commercial objectives are delivered.
  • Support innovation pipelines and new product development strategies.
  • Ensure customer requirements, product launches and commercial projects are delivered successfully.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve efficiency, margins and scalability.

Financial Performance

  • Work closely with the CFO to drive profitability and financial performance.
  • Manage commercial budgets, margin improvement initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and maximise returns.
  • Ensure commercial decisions align with wider business objectives.

About You

We are looking for an accomplished commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering growth within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will have:

  • Extensive experience operating at Commercial Director, Sales Director, Managing Director or senior commercial leadership level.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations within FMCG, manufacturing, beauty, personal care or consumer goods.
  • Strong global commercial experience, managing international customers, distributors and markets.
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Operations, NPD and Finance.
  • A strong understanding of commercial strategy, P&L management and business growth.
  • Exceptional negotiation, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence at board level and work closely with senior leadership teams.
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to drive change and deliver results.

Experience Required

  • Senior leadership experience within FMCG, consumer goods, beauty, personal care or manufacturing.
  • Experience managing teams across multiple business functions.
  • Proven success delivering revenue growth and improving commercial performance.
  • Experience working with UK and international retailers, distributors or customers.
  • Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing and supply chain environments.
  • Experience working alongside CEOs, Managing Directors and CFOs.
