Commercial Director – Circular IT Hardware & Technology

Location: Greater Manchester (Flexible)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Industry: IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), Hardware Refurbishment, Component Trading & Upcycling
Package: £150k base + OTE

About the Business

We are retained by a fast-growing, internationally operating circular economy IT hardware specialist headquartered in Greater Manchester.

Operating at the intersection of IT asset refurbishment, component upcycling (DRAM, IC chipsets, storage), and prebuilt systems, the business reclaims, tests, and remarkets high-grade IT infrastructure to resellers, brokers, and enterprise clients globally. With an agile operating model and international logistics footprint, the company is scaling rapidly and seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead its commercial strategy and sales organization.

The Role

As Commercial Director, you will sit at the helm of the company’s commercial strategy—driving revenue growth, expanding B2B channel distribution, optimizing trading margins, and leading a high-performing sales desk.

You will work closely with executive leadership, procurement, and operations to align supply chain inventory with market demand, ensuring rapid stock turnover and high-margin trading across UK and international secondary markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute the overarching commercial roadmap to drive sustainable margin growth, revenue targets, and market share expansion.
  • Sales Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and scale the internal sales team, embedding structured KPIs, account management methodologies, and proactive business development strategies.
  • Broker & Reseller Channel Growth: Expand relationships across B2B resellers, VARs, secondary market brokers, system integrators, and trade accounts across the UK, Europe, and global markets.
  • Stock & Margin Optimization: Partner closely with procurement and operations to align inventory acquisition (end-of-life devices, component clearouts, IC recovery) with high-margin sales channels.
  • Market Intelligence & Trading Strategy: Monitor secondary market pricing trends (RAM, SSD, CPUs, enterprise servers) to optimize spot-market trading and contract pricing.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Proven Commercial Leadership: Demonstrated track record as a Commercial Director, Sales Director, or Head of Sales within the IT hardware, refurbishment, ITAD, component trading, or technology distribution sector (e.g., Techbuyer, Foxway, Exertis, Restore Technology, CHG-MERIDIAN, Bargain Hardware, or similar enterprise operators).
  • Broker & Secondary Market Expertise: Deep understanding of B2B hardware trade, spot-market trading, margin management, and secondary market mechanics.
  • People Leadership: Proven ability to manage, coach, and scale a high-volume B2B sales team.
