Evolvi Rail Systems is a leading UK technology provider delivering smart, cost-effective rail booking solutions for the corporate and leisure travel sectors. Since pioneering the first self-booking tool for UK rail, Evolvi has continued to innovate with platforms like EvolviNG and API solutions that simplify complex fare structures, support travel policy compliance, and provide detailed reporting. Our services enable travel management companies and partners to access real-time fares, e-ticketing, and advanced features such as split ticketing—helping businesses save time and money while improving the travel experience.
Role Purpose
The Commercial Director for Evolvi Rail Systems is a senior leadership role responsible for setting and delivering the commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, and improving profitability across both new and existing business. The role has broad scope, covering sales performance, pricing, partnerships, and commercial governance, while also strengthening a more strategic approach to business development, account management and client retention. Operating at both strategic and hands-on level, the role leads cross-functional collaboration across product, technology, finance and operations to improve commercial discipline and performance. Ultimately, this role is accountable for creating a more joined-up, data-driven and commercially focused function across Evolvi.

Operational
- Set and deliver the commercial strategy aligned to business goals
- Own the revenue growth plan across new and existing business, delivering against commercial targets
- Build and run a clear commercial cadence, including pipeline management, forecasting, deal reviews and governance
- Develop and maintain pricing strategy and discount governance, ensuring control over deal profitability
- Build understanding of unit economics and cost-to-serve, using this to improve overall profitability
- Develop commercial models and business cases to support decision making and trade-offs
- Coach and support teams on deal shaping, negotiation and value-based selling
- Build and develop strategic partnerships across customers, industry bodies and corporate clients
- Lead negotiations with partners and customers, focusing on overall value and commercial outcomes
- Improve forecast accuracy and pipeline hygiene, using MI and dashboards to support decision making
- Build and manage pipeline forecasting for growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Define and embed a strategic account management approach, moving beyond day-to-day servicing
- Lead and develop Account Managers and Business Development Managers, including coaching, standards and performance management
- Introduce structured account planning focused on growth, retention and risk management
- Build team structure, role clarity and consistent ways of working across the commercial and account management function
- Influence senior stakeholders internally across Support, Product, Finance and IT Infrastructure
- Build strong relationships at executive client level, including negotiation with C-suite and procurement stakeholders

Skills And Experience
- Experience in a senior commercial leadership role, owning revenue growth and commercial strategy, ideally in the B2B business travel and/or online travel market.
- Strong track record of delivering against targets across new and existing business
- Solid commercial discipline across forecasting, pipeline management, pricing and deal governance
- Proven ability to lead negotiations and build strategic partnerships that drive commercial value
- Experience leading and developing commercial and/or account management teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and work cross-functionally
