The bio-manufacturing sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by increasing investment in biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, and advanced manufacturing. On behalf of a leading international company operating in this high-growth industry, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead the company's commercial strategy and accelerate business expansion across the UK and key international markets.

This is a strategic executive opportunity within a well-established organization recognized for innovation, manufacturing excellence, and long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, research organizations, and industrial manufacturers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, and leading the commercial organization through its next phase of expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy to achieve ambitious growth objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing national and international sales organization.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech organizations, CDMOs, research institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Identify new market opportunities and support the expansion of the company's international presence.
  • Negotiate high-value commercial agreements and oversee complex sales initiatives.
  • Monitor commercial performance, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, and Operations to support long-term strategic objectives.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Sales Director, or Head of Sales within the Bio-Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading commercial teams and delivering sustained revenue growth.
  • Strong experience managing strategic accounts and international business development.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and commercial capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages are considered an advantage.
