Job Title: Commercial Director

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Director to lead our branded products business and drive the next stage of growth for one of Europe’s leading specialist eCommerce retailers. Operating across multiple international markets, Gear4music combines the scale of a leading digital retailer with specialist product expertise and strong relationships with many of the world's top brands.

Reporting Structure

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide strategic leadership for our buying organisation, leading our Senior Purchasing Team to deliver a unified commercial strategy across all categories. You will have overall responsibility for branded product procurement, supplier partnerships, category performance, and eCommerce trading, ensuring our product proposition, pricing, and inventory strategy deliver sustainable revenue and profit growth.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Define and deliver the commercial strategy across all branded product categories.
  • Align buying teams behind shared priorities and ensure resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Technology, Operations, and Finance to deliver commercial objectives.
  • Use trading data, customer insight, and market trends to guide commercial decisions.

Buying & Supplier Management

  • Lead and develop our Senior Purchasing Team, empowering them to build high-performing category teams.
  • Develop and execute our branded procurement strategy.
  • Build strategic partnerships with suppliers and negotiate commercial agreements that support long-term growth.
  • Oversee category planning, product ranging, inventory investment, and supplier performance across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
