Commercial Director - High-Growth Technology Business
£100,000–£120,000 + bonus + potential equity
South London based - with excellent rail link from Sussex/Surrey/Greater London | Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home
We are exclusively supporting an exciting high-growth, technology-led business on the appointment of a Commercial Director to take full ownership of the commercial function and turn ambitious growth plans into consistent, predictable revenue performance.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is the most senior commercial role in the business and a key position within the senior leadership team. You will lead an established structure across new business, key accounts, bids/tenders and sales operations, with responsibility for creating one clear commercial operating rhythm, one forecast and strong accountability across the team.
There is also genuine scope for the role to develop into a broader Chief Commercial Officer mandate over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own revenue delivery, pipeline health, forecasting and commercial performance.
- Lead and develop a multi-team commercial function, including sales managers, key accounts, bids and sales operations.
- Build a disciplined operating cadence around forecasting, pipeline reviews, CRM hygiene, lead qualification, conversion and sales-cycle management.
- Work closely with the CEO and CFO on pricing, deal economics, discounting and commercial strategy.
- Hire, coach and develop managers, while addressing underperformance when required.
- Stay close to strategic deals, major accounts and key tenders.
- Use commercial data and customer insight to influence wider leadership and Board decisions.
- Build a scalable, repeatable sales function that can support continued high growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
