Position Overview

Our client is a global industrial manufacturing group with a broad portfolio of technical B2B products. Its European business operates a market- and customer-led commercial model and is looking for a leader to take that model forward.

The Role

The Commercial Director will own commercial leadership of the business across Europe. The brief is to strengthen the existing business, sharpen commercial focus and build a clear, profitable growth agenda. The portfolio spans several brands and product lines, creating a real opportunity to grow share of wallet by selling across the range to existing customers.

  • Full commercial responsibility for a substantial European P&L
  • A team of c. 12–18 commercial professionals across multiple European markets
  • Key markets: UK, Italy, France, and Germany
  • Reports to the Global Business Leader in the US, with regular interaction with the US organisation and global leadership team

Key responsibilities

  • Strengthen the European business and protect positions in mature markets and applications
  • Identify the most attractive growth areas based on market size, growth rate, customer demand, and margin potential
  • Build clear commercial strategies by market segment, deciding where to invest, defend, or accelerate
  • Prioritise investment in the highest-potential growth segments while defending positions in core markets
  • Drive strong sales execution, accountability, and commercial discipline across the European team
  • Sharpen customer targeting and increase penetration within priority accounts
  • Develop multi-product, multi-brand account strategies that cross-sell across the portfolio
  • Work closely with manufacturing sites and technical teams to support technically complex products
  • Lead effectively across different European cultures and markets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
